VASORD works in the field of rural development. It's activities include social mobilisation through formation of people's organisations, formation of women's groups and their empowerment for creating better families and society and thrift, credit and income generation programmes to improve the economic state of the people. It also focuses on issues related to environment protection through watershed development, sustainable agricultural practices, use of vermicompost and cleanliness and hygienic surroundings. Promote and strengthen voluntary sector through sharing information and experiences, capacity building programmes, networking of organisations, working for policy support for voluntary sector and people's initiatives are other areas of focus for VASORD.
